Garment Care

Grooming & Trimming

Through no fault of quality, pilling and bobbling can occur when fibres work loose if there is excessive friction on certain fabrics. A gentle brush usually resolves this issue. The pilling test results of Banner garments are exceptionally good however.

Stay cool

Shrinkage is commonly caused by overheating in the washing machine or tumble drier particularly on 100% cotton garments. Always follow the washing guideline instructions on the label. Where possible, garments should be washed inside out.

Chemicals are bad news

Protect garments against direct contact with chemicals such as bleaching agents and softeners in the wash, or perfume, hairsprays etc.

Controlling shine

Ironing at temperatures that are too high can cause unsightly shine marks on matt fabrics.

Tips: Remember that man-made fibres are vulnerable to high heat. Turn down the iron, iron inside out or cover with a damp towel before ironing.

Testing! Testing!

If you return a Banner garment and wish it to be tested professionally and independently, we will arrange this for you if at all possible. However, if the fault is not found to be due to the manufacturing process you will be liable for the testing charges, which in some circumstances may be substantial.

Actual garment measurements are in inches unless otherwise specified. Subject to normal manufacturing tolerances. Colours for guidance only. Please refer to our colour chart. All items subject to availability.
